The original full-sized SOCP dagger is the only pocketable fixed-blade that I've found to be almost as discreet and covenient to carry as a modern folding knife with a pocket clip. The Mini SOCP, then, is even better than the full-sized SOCP in that regard. In fact, the sheathed Mini SOCP is narrower in the pocket than many full-sized folders, and is only slightly longer than a closed, mid-sized folder. The knife's smaller size does come at the cost of a rather short 4 cm cutting edge, but that is an unavoidable trade-off one must accept to get a fixed-blade this compact. The Mini SOCP's handle is also surprisingly ergonomic, despite its stick-like appearance—it isn't ideal for extended cutting tasks, of course, but it is adequate for basic utility cutting and the application the original SOCP dagger was purpose-designed for. Speaking of the original SOCP dagger, the Mini SOCP pretty much has the same dimensions as that knife apart from the shorter blade, so any skills one may have gained from practice and sparring with the full-sized SOCP Trainer are transferrable to the smaller platform. Another thing I like about the Mini SOCP is that it comes with a square leather patch that can be fastened to the rear of the top of the sheath. This makes IWB carry of the Mini SOCP more comfortable since you won't have the textured finger ring digging into your side or your belly when bending at the waist. It can also help with manually indexing the location of the sheath's hole, making for faster and safer one-handed resheathing. I do wish this tan variant of the Mini SOCP was available in a double-edged option, but that's a somewhat minor gripe given everything else I like about the knife.
