After decades of working with the world’s top steel manufacturers, they partnered with Crucible Industries to create a steel of their own: CPM SPY27 — a particle metallurgy stainless steel with a proprietary mix of vanadium, molybdenum, niobium, nitrogen, and cobalt.
This supercharged version of the popular Para 3 Lightweight pairs that high-performance SPY27 blade with all the proven features of the standard version. Lightweight, compact, and exclusive to Spyderco, it’s a small folder with serious steel credentials. The cobalt-blue handle color marks it as one of Spyderco’s SPY27 models, and the particle metallurgy process gives the steel exceptional edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance.
