The Spyderco Retract stands out with its dramatically curved, kukri-inspired blade — an Ed Schempp hallmark that maximizes cutting leverage, especially on pull cuts. Crafted from 9Cr18MoV stainless steel and full-flat ground, the blade delivers excellent slicing efficiency with a negative angle that naturally draws material into the cut.

The handle features full skeletonized stainless steel liners, peel-ply textured G10 scales, and a partial G10 backspacer, forming a strong, ergonomic platform around a reliable LinerLock mechanism machined nearly flush to prevent accidental closure. A deep-carry wire clip (reversible for left or right tip-up carry) and a lined lanyard hole round out a design that balances low-profile pocket presence with instant accessibility.
